Tuna Casserole
Ingredients:
| 8 oz |
Package of Noodles |
| 3 T. |
Butter or margarine |
| 1/2 c. |
Celery, finely
chopped |
| 1/3 c. |
Onion, finely
chopped |
| 1/4 c. |
Carrot, finely
chopped |
| 2 T. |
Flour |
| 2 c. |
Milk |
| 4 oz |
Cream Cheese |
| 1 c. |
American Cheese,
cubed |
| 6 1/2 oz |
Can Tuna |
| 1/2 t. |
Salt |
| 1/4 t. |
Pepper |
| 1 c. |
Crushed potato chips |
Directions:
- Cook Noodles according to
package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Melt butter in a saucepan, and
add celery, onion and carrot. Cook 'til tender but not brown.
- Stir in flour until a paste is
formed.
- Add milk all at once - cook
and stire until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
- Add Cream and American
Cheeses, stirring 'til completely melted.
- Fold tuna, salt, pepper, and
cooked noodles into cheese sauce mixture, and place mixture in
a buttered casserole.
- Sprinkle with crushed potato
chips.
- Bake for 30 minutes at 350.
- Serves 5. I double this recipe
for my family and it leaves a little bit left over for lunch
the next day.
