Salt Dough
Supplies:

one cup of fine salt

one cup of flour (add more for softer dough)

about half a cup of water

Directions:

Mix the salt and flour together, then gradually add the water until the dough becomes elastic and the consistency that you need to work with it. Air dry on aluminum foiled cookie sheet for several days or bake at 200 for 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on how thick your ornament/sculpture is. Store leftover dough in plastic wrap, in airtight container.

Tips:

You can use cookie cutters OR make 3-d sculptures like animals or even use this for different school projects. To color the dough, you can use spices, cocoa powder, food coloring, kool aid packets or leave them dough colored and then paint after they dry/bake. You can add things like vegetable oil, wallpaper glue, or lemon juice to give it different textures (1 tbsp of each). To give it a glossy finish after painting, seal with glaze.
