The fate of my favorite TV Show this summer has been revealed. Windfall has been cancelled. The last episode will be aired on 8/31/06 and will tie up some loose ends, but will not return for another season. SAD. I will miss Sean, Nina, Peter, Beth and Cameron and the rest of the lottery winning gang. Everyone that I've talked to that gave the show a chance and watched it, said they liked it... so, I guess it just didn't have enough initial viewers. Bummer -- ya'll check this one out on DVD when it comes out. It's a good one! I think we'll see these actors in many more things to come. You can look for them in:

Jason Gedrick: Kings of South Beach
Jon Foster: Tenderness
Alice Greczyn: Shrooms
Luke Perry: The Sandlot 3 and The Real Catch
DJ Cotrona: Love Is the Drug

60 minute drama premieres Thursday, June 8th,  at 10/8c.

From executive producer Laurie McCarthy (“Felicity,” “CSI: Miami”) comes “Windfall,” an hour drama that follows 20 lottery winners after their unexpected good fortune. Each winner's reaction is different and the overwhelming cash windfall presents unexpected marital, ethical, legal – and even criminal problems.

At the center is a close-knit foursome who have known each other since college when the “wrong” spouses were in love. Luke Perry (“Beverly Hills, 90210”) stars as Peter Schaefer, a devoted husband to Nina (Lana Parrilla, “Boomtown”) and father of two. Parrilla finds herself in a complicated relationship with Cameron Walsh, played by Jason Gedrick (“Boomtown”). Sarah Wynter (“24”) plays Cameron's loving but suspicious wife.

A relative stranger to their circle is D.J. Cotrona (“Skin”) as Sean Mathers, who finds that winning the lottery threatens to expose a dark secret in his past. Also, for Damien Cutler (Jon Foster, “The Door in the Floor”), a rebellious teen, winning the cash means he is set free from his parents -- with millions in his pocket. Alice Greczyn (“The Dukes of Hazzard”) stars as Frankie, a 16-year old girl whose separated parents' newfound wealth sets off a marital war.

In addition, Kimberly George (Malinda Williams, "Soul Food") is a 22-year-old single mother whose winning the lottery gives her the opportunity to start a new life and leave the trailer park behind. Rounding out the cast is Jaclyn DeSantis (“Road Trip”), who plays Maggie Hernandez, a nurse who can't wait to spend her winnings.    --Courtesy NBC.com

The Ulloms On... Windfall

Jessica's Thoughts:
Ok, my initial thought, to be completely honest, when seeing this show previewed is HELLO, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE (for guys and gals)! Then, after reading about it and watching more previews, this is my top pick for non-reality based summer tv viewing. Who hasn't wondered what it would be like to win the lottery? Jason Gedrick and Luke Perry in a show together? I would tune in just for that!  I was a big fan of 90210 in my early years and cannot wait to see Luke Perry all grown up.... 10 years later. Other than those obvious reasons I'll be watching, the storyline is catchy, it's new and different.  We'll be tuning in

Windfall Poll
What do you think of Windfall?
I love it!
It's fairly enjoyable.
I will watch it if nothing else is on.
Not my cup of tea.
